Abode of the Gods Day Trip

Having picked you up from your hotel in Cusco at 9 am, we'll set off northbound for the town of Sencca. After around 45 minutes on the road, we'll come to Apukunaq Tianan, the Abode of the Gods.

As soon as you arrive, you'll find yourself in awe of this beautiful ensemble of giant sculptures carved into the limestone rock. We'll start walking around the Abode of the Gods and discovering the meaning of this place and all the sculptures we see. Some of them tower up to 33 feet (10 metres) high!

The puma, the three-dimensional door, the protective Apu or God Wiracocha, the Pachamama or the viewpoint are some of the sculptures we'll admire. From here, we'll also gaze out at breathtaking views of the city and the scenery surrounding it. Our guide will also share some of the best-kept secrets of Andean cosmology and the history of the Inca period.

Finally, we'll return to Cusco and say goodbye in the main square at around 12 noon.

El guía que nos tocó era muy simpático, sabía mucho de la historia de Cusco y tenia demasiada paciencia para explicar. Sin embargo, el lugar fue un poco decepcionante. En total la visita duró aprox una hora, porque había muy pocas cosas por ver. Es un sitio que está en construcción por artistas actuales, no es un sitio original de la civilización Inca. O guia foi pontual e atencioso... Em relação a visita, o local não é histórico e as imagens são recentes, mas lá podemos conhecer e vivenciar os 3 níveis de espiritualidade Inca, representado pelo Condor, Puma e Serpente...
