At the appointed time, we'll meet at Rua Rockefeller in Curitiba and board a bus that will take us to the municipality of São José dos Pinhais. The drive will take about half an hour.
During the tour, we'll talk about Italian immigration to Brazil at the end of the 19th century. It was the Italians who brought the wine culture with them to this land. We'll learn some interesting facts while admiring the landscapes of the region from the bus, which is full of crop fields and, of course, vineyards. We'll also make a pitstop at a cactus, succulent, and orchid plantation, as well as at a strawberry plantation.
We'll travel through rural areas of São José dos Pinhais, and the Mergulhão colony, to visit a total of six wineries. We'll learn all about Brazilian wine as we enter the barrel rooms and learn about the processes used to produce this beverage.
In addition, in all the wineries, we'll enjoy tasting wines and cheeses from São José dos Pinhais. Halfway through the tour, we'll stop at a restaurant and leave you an hour free for lunch. Don't fill up too much, though because, after lunch, we'll make another pitstop at a local cheese and charcuterie factory specializing in smoked products and a craft brewery!
After six hours of sightseeing, we'll end the wine tour at the starting point.
