Castro & Guartelá Canyon Tour
At 7 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Curitiba and go directly to the Guartelá State Park. The journey by minibus will take approximately two and a half hours.
Once we have arrived at our destination, we'll start a 5-kilometre (3.1 miles) hiking route that will take us to explore the largest canyon in Brazil and the sixth largest in the world, which is sure to leave you speechless!
The hike, which takes about two and a half hours, will allow us to enjoy the incredible views of the Guartelá Canyon, a natural formation 30 (18.6 miles) kilometres long. We'll also try to spot the local wildlife, including the king vulture, the pigeon sparrowhawk, the blue-fronted parakeet, the purple-breasted parakeet and many other birds.
As we ascend to one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Guartelá Canyon, we'll come across some incredible waterfalls where, if you wish, you can take a dip.
We'll return to the vehicle and go to the town of Castro, where we'll recover our strength with a delicious buffet lunch. With your appetite satiated, we'll take a panoramic tour of Castro to admire its main monuments, such as its lake park, the church or the Morro do Cristo.
Before returning to Curitiba, we'll visit the Tropero de Castro Museum. This exhibition is dedicated to one of the oldest professions in Brazil, a traditional occupation that dates back to the 16th century. Can you guess what it is? Wait until you find out!
We'll finish the tour at 7 pm and drop you off at your hotel in Curitiba.
