Nature and history are the highlights of this activity that includes a hiking route through Cuetzalán and a visit to a weaving workshop. We'll discover one of the most important traditions of the town, and you can dive next to beautiful waterfalls.
Cuetzalán Hiking Tour + Loom Workshop Visit
At the time of your choice we'll pick you up at your hotel in Cuetzalán and drive by minibus to the Aventura Grotto, located 10 minutes away. Are you ready to start walking?
We'll start a hiking tour through the Aventura cave, an amazing cave full of stalactites and stalagmites. As we walk through the cave, we'll explain how over time these curious formations are created.
Afterwards, we'll continue exploring the beauty of Cuetzalán's nature by admiring two of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area. We'll approach the waterfalls of El Salto and La Escondida on foot and you can evne take a dip in their pools - a perfect way to relax after the hiking route!
The next part of the excursion will be dedicated to a visit to a backstrap loom workshop, where we'll spend between 1 hour and a half. We'll discover how this sewing tool, used since pre-Hispanic times to make garments in the Mesoamerican region, works.
We'll see first-hand how the inhabitants of Cuetzalán make their textile garments and you'll be able to ask them any questions you may have - a real immersion into the most traditional Mexico!
After a five-hour tour, we'll finish the activity at your hotel.
