Have you ever been to a wine tasting inside a mine? If not, this is your chance - on this tour, we'll explore the Minas da Recheira and sample delicious wines in a unique setting.
Tour options
When making your reservation, you can choose from the following options:
Recheira Mines, Lago da Juventude & Salão Mineiro Tour (1.5 hours)
We'll meet at the entrance of the Minas da Recheira to begin a guided tour of its interior. Before entering, we'll take the opportunity to learn interesting facts about agriculture and the surrounding environment. Then we'll visit the Minas Gerais Interpretation Center, where we'll learn about the main minerals that were mined in this place.
Ready to travel back in time? Equipped as real miners, we'll go through one of the galleries to explore them from the inside. We'll find different experiences, such as visiting Lago da Juventude ('Lake of Youth'), seeing a photographic art exhibition that tells the history of the mine, and lighting an original gasometer, the object used by the miners of the time to illuminate the galleries.
We'll end this tour at the Salão Mineiro, a space that hosts events related to mining.
Recheira Mines Tour + Wine Tasting (3.5 hours)
If you wish for an even more comprehensive experience, you can book a tour of the mines with a wine tasting. You can choose one of three different options and, in all of them, an enology expert will introduce you to each wine:
- Tasting of three wines: in addition to touring the mines, you'll sample three Almeida Garrett wines.
- Tasting of four wines: after discovering the interior of the mines, you'll enjoy four different Almeida Garrett wines
- Tasting of five wines: at the end of the visit to the mines, you'll enjoy a tasting of five Almeida Garrett wines - the most complete option!

Depending on the option you choose, you'll be able to visit the mines at the following times:
- Mines, Lago da Juventude & Salão Mineiro Tour: daily at 10:30 am or 3:30 pm
- Mines Tour + Wine Tasting: daily at 10 am or at 3 pm
