At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Old Fortress of Corfu to start this unforgettable guided tour of the island's capital's most emblematic sites.
First, we'll stroll through the lovely walkway filled with trees of the Boschetto Garden. From here, we'll head toward the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, which was the summer residence for a royal Greek family and currently houses the Museum of Asian Art of Corfu.
We'll continue along the pedestrian street of Listón until we reach Spianada Square, the main square in Corfu's old town and one of Europe's largest squares. Did you know that in one of the areas in the square, there are occasionally cricket games? We'll tell you why!
Next, we'll admire the old Teatro di San Giacomo, which was the center of Greek opera from 1733 to 1893 and was where Antonio Vivaldi rehearsed. In 1903, the theatre became the City Hall.
Lastly, we'll explore the Jewish Quarter to discover the history of the Jewish community in Corfu, which dates back to the 12th century and played a crucial role in the evolution of the island's society.
Finally, we'll return to the old town to conclude this 2.5-hour tour close to the starting point.
