Jesús María & Colonia Caroya Day Trip

Discover the Jesuit legacy of the Argentinian province of Córdoba on this day trip to the towns of Jesús María and Colonia Caroya

Discover the Jesuit legacy of the Argentinian province of Córdoba on this day trip to the towns of Jesús María and Colonia Caroya

Description

After picking you up from your hotel in Córdoba at the scheduled time, we'll set off for the city of Colonia Caroya.

This fascinating town was historically inhabited by descendants of Italian immigrants and is famous for its handmade sausages! When we arrive, we'll visit the Jesuit Estancia Casa de Caroya, a huge complex that served as a summer residence for the students of the school in Monserrat. We'll tell you all about the history of this prestigious educational institution!

Our excursion will then continue to the city of Jesús María, famous in Argentina for hosting the annual Dressage and Folklore Festival. Here we'll continue to discover the religious legacy of the 17th century by visiting the Jesuit Estancia of San Isidro Labrador, one of the most outstanding in the area.

While we tour the estancia we'll tell you some interesting facts about it, such as the fact that it was a pioneer in regional wine production! As we'll see, the teachings of the Jesuits are still preserved in much of the province of Córdoba. Although their influence gradually declined over time, their monuments, declared a World Heritage Site, are the best proof of their legacy.

At the end of the trip we'll return to your hotel in Córdoba.

Hotel pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels located in the city of Cordoba. If you're staying outside this area, we'll meet you instead at the following address: Independencia 174, near the main square San Martin and the Cathedral of Cordoba.
