Make the most of your time in Cordoba to explore Alta Gracia, a town surrounded by nature. You'll discover an emblematic hotel, a Jesuit legacy and you'll be able to enter the homes of two historical figures. There's so much to see here!
Day Trip to Alta Gracia
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cordoba, and we'll head towards Alta Gracia, some 50 minutes away. On the way, we'll stop at the Miryam Stefford Monument and find out all about this famous actress.
Once we reach Alta Gracia, we'll visit the Tajamar, an artificial lake built by the Jesuits, as well as the Jesuit Museum. Here, we'll discover the influence that this religious community had on the town and we'll discover how the monks that resided here used to live. We'll also visit the Archeological Museum.
We'll continue walking around the centre of Alta Gracia, where we'll visit the beautiful church of Nuestra Señora de la Merced. Next we'll head to Villa Nydia, the Che Guevara House Museum. We'll explore the rooms where this famous figure grew up and relive some moments of his life through documents and letters. We'll even see a replica of the motorcycle he rode during his trip to America!
From here, we'll head to the house of Manuel de Falla. This Spanish composer chose Alta Gracia as his home for the final years of his life. His house is now a museum, and here we'll see five rooms full of personal objects, furniture, books and photographs of his life. We'll even be able to see sheet music written by the artist.
The last stop will be at the Virgin of Lourdes Grotto, a popular place for prayer among the faithful. At the end of the trip we'll head back to Cordoba, dropping you off at your hotels around four hours after pick up.
