Gran Concepción Coastal Tour
Tour Highlights
At 9:30 am, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Concepción, kicking off our tour that highlights the main coastal attractions of the metropolitan area.
Venturing through Gran Concepción, which encompasses not only the city but also nearby towns, our route leads us across the Biobío River—a historical boundary between the Reino de España and the Mapuche territories. On the opposite bank lies San Pedro de la Paz, where the enchanting lagoon is home to a community of black-necked swans.
Our next destination is the Hualpén Peninsula, home to the Pedro del Río Zañartu Museum-Park, situated near the Biobío River's estuary. Exploring the exhibits about this picturesque environment, we'll walk along the park's trails, which follow the Pacific Ocean through the Nature Sanctuary.
Continuing our exploration of Gran Concepción, we'll visit the town of Talcahuano. A break at the Tumbes Peninsula Cove will give you an hour for lunch, with local restaurants offering panoramic views of Quiriquina Island and Concepción Bay.
Post-lunch, we'll head to the Talcahuano naval base to explore the historic Monitor Huáscar—a colossal battleship that played a pivotal role in the Pacific War. After delving into its storied past, we'll return to Concepción for a captivating sunset over the Lenga wetland. The day concludes around 5:30 pm as we drop you back off at your hotel.
