Capricho de Gaudí Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Capricho de Gaudí, aka Villa Quijano, to begin our guided tour of this famous villa in Comillas.
Before entering the building, we'll admire the many decorative details of its facade. We'll see the great mastery with which Gaudí's work combines oriental, Gothic, Islamic, Nasrid, and Mudejar elements. You'll surely be struck by its beautiful tower, which is 20 meters high!
We'll also stroll through the manicured gardens of the Capricho de Gaudí and enter the villa to discover its exquisite interior decoration. You'll be enchanted by the carved wooden furniture, colorful stained glass windows, railings with musical motifs, and ceramics that are used throughout the villa.
Of course, throughout this guided tour of Capricho de Gaudí, we'll go through the history of the villa, which was declared an "Asset of Cultural Interest" (Bien de Interés Cultural) in 1969. Did you know that it's one of the few buildings designed by Gaudí outside of Catalonia? Or, that it almost fell into ruins after the Spanish Civil War?
