Carmelo Private Tour + Visit to 2 Wineries
Description
At the scheduled time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Colonia del Sacramento and travel from there along the coast to Carmelo, a city whose mix of cultures and architectural richness leaves all who visit it completely astounded.
Upon arriving in Carmelo, you'll be given 5 hours of free time to roam the streets of this city steeped in a tradition of wine. So you don't miss anything, we recommend you visit the Calera de las Huérfanas (Orphan's Limekiln), one of the most iconic places in the city. This Jesuit construction tells a fascinating story in which lime and the Colegio de Niñas Huérfanas de Buenos Aires (School of Orphan Girls of Buenos Aires) are the main characters.
Another place you simply cannot miss in Carmelo is the Carmelo Bridge (swing bridge over the Arroyo de las Vacas), the first viaduct of its type in Uruguay. We also recommend going to the yacht dock, visiting the mountain quarries or relaxing on the Zagarzazú or Seré Beaches.
To complete your tour of Carmelo, don't forget to visit one of the traditional wineries and try some wine and food. An authentic delight! The tour includes a ticket to two wineries of your choosing.
Finally, we'll meet up again at the agreed time and bring you back to your hotel in Colonia de Sacramento after around 6 or 7 hours.
