Colonia del Sacramento Bike Tour
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the Municipal Palace to begin our bike tour of Colonia del Sacramento. Ready to see the historic center from a fresh perspective?
Once we hand out the bikes and helmets, we’ll set off on the Real de San Carlos sightseeing circuit. Our first stop will be the iconic Plaza de Toros, Uruguay’s first tourist complex, built in 1908. Along the way, we’ll admire the exteriors of other historic landmarks, including the old Hotel Casino, the Usina, the Frontón de Pelota Vasca, and the remains of the old pier.
Next, we’ll visit the old San Benito Chapel, a small Spanish-era temple that offers a glimpse into the region’s colonial past. From there, we’ll ride along the scenic Rambla Costanera, where you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Río de la Plata. Take a moment to stop and capture the natural beauty and beaches surrounding Colonia del Sacramento’s bay.
On our return, we’ll pass through the city’s residential areas, giving you a chance to discover a different side of this charming destination.
We’ll finish back at the starting point, wrapping up a 15-kilometer (9-mile) ride over the course of an unforgettable 4-hour tour.
