Sigiriya & Dambulla Private Day Trip
Sigiriya & Dambulla Private Day Trip
At 6 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Colombo and get into a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to drive to our first stop of the day: Sigiriya. The journey to Sigiriya, an archaeological treasure, will take around 4 hours.
In Sigiriya, you'll see the ruins of an ancient palace, a monastery and other buildings built in the 5th century on a huge rock known as Lion Rock. The huge claws at its feet will definitely give you a clue as to why it was given this name!
We'll climb to the top of Lion Rock, which stands at an impressive 1312 feet (400 metres). After we've walked back down, you'll have some free time to have lunch in one of the restaurants near Sigiriya.
Our next stop will be the city of Dambulla where we'll visit the Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple, which is the largest religious complex in Sri Lanka. We're sure you'll love walking through its various grottoes while we discuss its fascinating history.
After this visit, we'll start our return journey to your hotel in Colombo, where we should arrive at 6 pm.
