Why Visit Choco Story Colmar?
The Alsace region has a long tradition of chocolate making. Choco Story Colmar, located in the central Place de la Cathédrale, pays tribute to this link with a large exhibition dedicated to cocoa.
With your ticket, you'll visit the Museum of Chocolate in Colmar following the explanations of an audio guide in English. You'll discover the origins of cocoa and learn about its history from the 15th century onwards, when the product was brought to Europe by the conquistadors.
Did you know that the Mayan, Aztec and Inca civilisations were closely linked to cocoa? Throughout the visit, you'll discover exactly what this link consisted of. The exhibition also has interactive areas where you can smell different cocoa aromas and discover how chocolates and pralines are made.
The exhibition also houses unique pieces such as a sculpture of the Statue of Liberty made entirely from cocoa. It's a tribute to Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor of the original New York work, who was a native of Colmar.
After 1.5 hours of sightseeing, you'll conclude your visit with a mouthwatering chocolate tasting!
