Looking to do some wine tourism in Colmar? With this ticket to the Alsace Wine Museum, you'll discover the rich winemaking tradition of eastern France. It even comes with a wine tasting!
Why Visit the Alsace Wine Museum?
Found in Cathedral Square, right in Colmar's historical centre, the Alsace Wine Museum will reveal how famous Alsatian wines are produced in the east of France.
With your ticket to the museum, you'll have a chance to explore its different rooms with an audioguide in English, which will tell you all the traditional winemaking secrets of this area. The exhibition has interactive spaces that give you close-up insight into what local vineyards are like, what types of grapes are cultivated, and what processes they undergo when being turned into wine.
Amongst the main attractions, a walkway you can tread on to explore the grape stomping phase is a real highlight. You also can't miss the room where you'll find a simulator that gives you a tour of an Alsace vineyard without even having to leave the museum.
As well as this, the museum has informational panels that will show you locations along the Alsace Wine Route. You'll also learn about the roles of winemakers, coopers, sommeliers, chefs, and other professionals in the exciting world of wine.
After 1 and a half hours, this audio-guided tour will come to an end with a tasting of a glass of wine.
Opening Times
The Alsace Wine Museum is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Please be aware that the final admission is at 5 pm.
