At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel. The tour will start in Coimbra, where we'll talk about the historical period of the Crusades and the remains that can still be seen inside the defensive structures of the city.
Next, we'll head to the fascinating Penela Castle, which, thanks to its location, became one of the most important constructions within the Mondego Defense Line. In this remarkable building, we'll be able to admire the variety of architectural styles from different periods.
The next stop will take us to Tomar - did you know that it is known as the Templar City? Walking through its streets, we'll tell you about the life of Gualdim Pais, Templar friar, knight of Alphonse I of Portugal, and the founder of the city of Tomar.
Worked up an appetite yet? We'll head to the banks of the Nabão River, where you can have a delicious lunch on your own at a local restaurant in the area - the views from this area will be spectacular!
Before returning to Coimbra, we'll make our last stop at Almourol Castle, located on a small rocky island in the course of the Tagus River, this fortress is one of the most significant from the conquest of the region from the Al Andalus kingdoms.
