A very cool but also very long tour. They take you by bus to the start of the tour, and you have to pay a cash deposit to be able to take a dry boat (or show your ID). It is advisable to bring plenty of sunscreen because the stops are on beaches and there is hardly any shade.

Explore the Mondego River on this kayak tour from Coimbra to discover the breathtaking Mondego Valley. You'll pass charming villages, river beaches and much more!

Mondego River Kayak Tour

We'll meet at 10 am on the old road between Coimbra and Penacova, on the banks of the Mondego River. From here we'll head to Penacova where our kayak tour will begin.

When we arrive, we'll listen to some instructions and hand out the kayaks. Then we'll hit the water and set off on this exciting tour. As we paddle, we'll admire the beautiful Mondego Valley that surrounds us and pass villages such as Ronqueira and Louredo.

We'll also pass beaches on the banks of the river and row around the currents. What's more, you can jump out of your kayaks and enjoy a refreshing swim! At around 1 pm, we'll stop at a restaurant so you can get something to eat or drink.

With our batteries recharged, we'll hop back in the kayaks and return to Penacova, where we'll set off for Coimbra, arriving between 3 pm and 4 pm.

Un recorrido muy chulo pero también muy largo. Te llevan en autobús hasta donde inicia el recorrido, y tienes que pagar una fianza en efectivo para poder coger un bote seco ( o dar el DNI ). Recomendable llevar bien de crema solar porque las paradas que se hacen son en playas y no hay apenas sombra. Translate this opinion into English.

Buena bajada con río bastante calmo, por lo que hay remar. Muy buena experiencia con buenas vistas a la naturaleza. Los monitores super majos. La parada antes del final como 30-45 min antes de acabar.viene bien. Mejor llevar comida, el bar de la playa fluvial es lentísimo. 40 min y no habían sacada nada.. Ni habían cogido la comanda. La pasamos genial, llegando nos explicaron cómo iba a ser el paseo y luego nos transportaron desde el punto de encuentro hasta el punto de inicio de la ruta en kayak. Ahí nos indicaron cómo se remaba y los puntos importantes a tomar en cuenta.
