Mount San Lorenzo & Calluqueo Glacier Trip
Mount San Lorenzo & Calluqueo Glacier Trip
At the time of your choice, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Cochrane and drive south through the Chilean Patagonia. On this route at the foot of the Andes, we'll pass by the beautiful Esmeralda lake and cordon. After a journey of about an hour, we'll arrive at the viewpoint of the Calluqueo glacier.
From the viewpoint, we'll see how a large mass of ice descends the western slope of Mount San Lorenzo. This great Andean mountain, 12,158 ft (3,706 meters) high, marks the natural border between Chile and Argentina. We'll also be able to see the steep peaks of Mount Ortuzar on the horizon.
After enjoying the views from the lookout point, we'll take a short walk to a nearby pier, where we'll begin a boat ride on Lake Calluqueo. On this 30-minute trip, we'll navigate through the whitest waters and see different icebergs. Once we dock at the other shore of the lake, we'll go for another walk to get even closer to the Calluqueo glacier and the slopes of Mount San Lorenzo.
We'll take a break at the foot of the mountain to have a picnic lunch that will include a trout, chicken, or beef sandwich with arugula, tomato, mayonnaise, and artisan bread. We'll also have cookies with jam, a cheese board, and olives. As a drink, you can opt for a calafate liqueur or a natural juice.
After lunch, we'll take the boat back to the other shore of Lake Calluqueo. From there, we'll walk to the glacier viewpoint, where the vehicle that will take us back to Cochrane will be waiting for us. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled 6 hours after pickup.
