Travel to one of the largest archaeological sites in South America with this 2 day Tour of the Toro Toro National Park.
Toro Toro 2 day Tour
Day 1
You'll be picked up a 7 am from your hotel in Cochabamba in order to begin this 2-day trip. We'll commence the trip by heading out to South Bolivia's department of Potosí, and during the journey, we'll be able to admire the villages which surround the High Valley of Cochabamba and the Angostura lake, an artificial 6 mile (10 kilometre) squared lake.
We'll also pass through the towns of Tarata, Punata, Huayculi, and Ansaldo whilst following the Caine River to reach our final stop: the village of Toro Toro. After settling into the hotel and having lunch we'll head to the Toro Toro National Park, a park that holds a species protection area and a palaeontological site.
During our trip, we'll be able to observe the impressive dinosaur footprints and Mesozoic fossils at the archaeological site and explore the Umajalanta cavern, a 4 mile (7 km) deep grotto with stalactites and an interior lagoon inhabited by blind fish. When finalising the trip, we'll return to the hotel for dinner and spend the night.
Day 2
On our second day, we'll start early and have breakfast before leaving for the deepest part of the Toro Toro canyon. Here we'll get to see its crystal clear water pools and where you'll be able to have a nice refreshing swim. After enjoying some time at the gorge, we'll have lunch and head back to Cochabamba. We'll arrive at your hotel around 6:30 pm.
