Convent Museum of Santa Teresa Tour
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Colón, from where we'll walk to one of the oldest buildings in Cochabamba: the Convent of Santa Teresa.
Founded in 1760, this baroque-style monastery has been the residence of the Discalced Carmelite Sisters since its construction. It's an important example of the architectural and cultural heritage of the Bolivian city and has been recently restored to allow visitors to enjoy even more of its beauty.
The tour will take us through the different sections of the convent-museum, immersing us in its solemnity and silence. We'll see the mural paintings that are housed in some of the rooms, as well as the church. In the temple, we'll be able to admire the religious works of art that are preserved on the main altar, such as the central altarpiece, with decorations in gold leaf.
We'll also walk through the cloister of the convent, composed of a beautiful stone arcade. After a little less than 2 hours of exploring this beautiful religious place, we'll end the tour and say our goodbyes at the exit.
