Transylvania 2 Day Tour

Day 1: Cluj – Alba Carolina – Corvin Castle – Sibiu

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Cluj at 9 am, ready to set off on an unforgettable adventure exploring some of the most important sites in southern Transylvania.

The first stop on our tour will be at Alba Carolina, an 18th century citadel located in the historically important Romanian city of Alba Iulia. We'll get to explore the fortress, one of the best preserved in Europe - you'll be fascinated by its iconic star shape!

Next, we'll head to the 2007 European Capital of Culture: Sibiu. We'll visit the most emblematic landmarks in this medieval town, including the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the legendary Bridge of Lies. After our tour of Sibiu, we'll take you to the hotel where you'll spend the night, and you'll have the rest of the day free to spend as you wish.

Day 2: Sibiu – Biertan – Sighisoara – Cluj

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll leave Sibiu behind and set off to Biertan. Arriving in the Transylvanian town, we'll visit its famous fortified church, an imposing hilltop building and one of the largest of its kind in the region. We'll discover the complex lock on one of its doors made up of up to 15 bolts!

Continuing on our tour of Transylvania, we'll make our way to Sighisoara, a town famous for being the home of Vlad Tepes, a real life historical figure who served as the inspiration for Count Dracula. We'll explore the streets of the medieval walled city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before leaving you to have some free time to get lunch.

We'll meet back up after you've eaten to visit the Sighisoara Clock Tower. Once the main defensive gate to the citadel, the impressive tower is these days home to the city's History Museum. We'll then climb up the 300 wooden steps to the famous 15th century Church on the Hill, one of the most important churches in the region.

At the end of our two-day tour of Transylvania, we'll head back to Cluj, where you'll be dropped off at around 6 pm.
