Flawless day. Andrea punctual and available. Claudia, a very friendly, prepared and helpful guide who involved and fascinated us with her stories and explanations during the visit of the Necropolis, a UNESCO heritage site, and of the historic center. Lunch took place as scheduled at the "chicche e pepe" restaurant, managed by a nice couple who made this short stop pleasant and where we were able to taste traditional dishes.

Discover what Italy was like before Roman times with this excursion to Tarquinia from Civitavecchia. You'll visit Etruscopolis, an underground city of Etruscan origin!

Tarquinia Excursion

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at the cruise port of Civitavecchia and travel by minibus to Tarquinia, just 20 minutes away.

Upon arrival, we'll head over to Etruscopolis, an underground museum that recreates an Etruscan city from the 4th century B.C. Here, we'll discover tombs, houses, and objects that reconstruct different scenes from the daily life of this civilization.

Following the visit to Etruscopolis, you'll have free time to grab some lunch if you wish. Then, we'll take a walking tour of the historic centre of Tarquinia to take in the façade of the iconic monuments such as the communal palace, the medieval towers and the Santa Maria di Castello Church.

Then, after finishig this tour, and after six hours of exploring, the tour will conclude back at the starting point.

Return to Civitavecchia

When booking, you'll be asked to select the time you want to return to Civitavecchia. The departures from the port of Tarquinia are at 2:35, 3:35, and 4:35 pm.

Giornata impeccabile. Andrea puntuale e disponibile. Claudia, guida molto cordiale, preparata e disponibile che ci ha coinvolti ed affascinati con i suoi racconti e le sue spiegazioni durante la visita della Necropoli, patrimonio dell'Unesco, e del centro storico. Il pranzo si è svolto come da programma alla trattoria "chicche e pepe", gestita da una simpatica coppia che ha reso piacevole questa breve sosta e dove abbiamo potuto gustare piatti della tradizione.
