Sótano El Cepillo Abseiling Tour
Sótano El Cepillo Abseiling Tour
After picking you up at your hotel in Ciudad Valles at 7 am, we'll head to the town of Aquismón for a day full of adventure. The journey by minibus will take us about an hour and a half.
Once at our destination, we'll enjoy a filling breakfast of coffee, enchiladas, chilaquiles or scrambled eggs, depending on the season - the best way to get some energy before we go abseiling!
Do you know what Mexican 'sótanos are? The literal translation is 'basement'. They're actually pit caves that are like an abyss that goes deep into the depths of the earth. During the activity, we'll explore the interior of the 'sótano El Cepillo', one of the most famous in Aquismón.
We'll be equipped with all the safety equipment for abseiling and we'll start descending through this grotto in a vertical drop that is almost 160 metres (524 feet) high.
Accompanied by our instructors at all times, we'll enter the depths of the Huasteca Potosina to admire its beauty. In the final section of the basement we'll find a small natural pool of turquoise waters where, if you wish, you can take a refreshing dip.
After a rest inside the cave, we'll begin the go back up to the surface. To recharge your batteries we'll take you to a restaurant where we'll enjoy a lunch consisting of a dish and a drink.
We'll finish the excursion at 7 pm and leave you at your hotel.
