Botanical Garden Highlights
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to kick off our day trip to the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden. Just a short 20 minutes from the city center, this garden is known as one of the oldest in Cuba and ranks among the most significant in the country.
Once we arrive, we'll walk through the 94 hectares (232 acres) encompassed by the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden. During our exploration, we'll come across over 2,000 species of trees, including 23 varieties of bamboo and 150 diverse types of palms.
We'll also provide insights into the garden's history, tracing it back to the late 19th century when entrepreneur Edwin F. Atkins, from the United States acquired the old sugar mill to enhance botanical research on sugar cane. It marked a sweet beginning indeed!
To round off the tour, we'll explore the wide array of plants from all corners of the globe that find their home in the Cienfuegos Botanical Garden. This lush and verdant site, full of beaut, will captivate you from start to finish.
Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel, ending the activity after a 3-hour journey.
