On this boat trip in the Cienfuegos Bay, we'll sail to the Castle of Jagua, one of the best-preserved fortresses in all of Cuba!
Description
Did you know that Cienfuegos exists thanks to it's bay? On this boat trip, we'll learn all about this fascinating city from the water. We'll meet at the Muelle Real port to begin our adventure. All aboard!
We'll board a traditional boat and cruise around the bay of Cienfuegos, an enclave whose waters flow into the Caribbean Sea through a long, narrow channel.
During the boat trip, we'll pass by cays and islets at which we'll make several stops so that you can hop into the water. We can also take a break at the local church in the fishing settlement of El Perché, and at some of the local restaurants overlooking the sea. Here, you can enjoy lunch at any of the local restaurants!
You'll also enjoy Cuban music and learn many interesting facts about the history and biodiversity of Cienfuegos.
The boat will anchor at the pier of Punta Majagua so that you can visit one of the great attractions of the area, the Castillo de Jagua. We'll leave you free time to visit this monument, erected by order of Ferdinand V to protect the town from attacks from pirates and corsairs.
Finally, we'll meet up again and sail back to the starting point, where we'll finish the trip after 6 hours of activity.
