Explore an English castle, an Italian village and delight in the scent of lavender with this tour to Chautla Hacienda, Val'Quirico and Lavender Fields from Cholula.
Chautla Hacienda, Lavender Fields & Val'Quirico Tour
At 9:45 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cholula and set off to explore three charming places: Chautla Hacienda, Lavender Fields and Val'Quirico.
After a 45-minute drive we'll stop at the Hacienda de Chautla, a former 18th century estate where'll see a huge lake, a chapel, and a kitchen with an impressive collection of Talavera pottery. We'll also visit the emblematic English castle on its grounds. Inside this turreted red and white structure, which overlooks what was Latin America's first hydroelectric dam, we'll get a close-up view of what was once a great hall of arms.
We'll then continue our tour to Rancho San Martin where you'll be mesmerized by the immense lavender fields that give the impression of a beautiful sea of violet! There we'll attend a workshop to learn about the properties, uses and benefits of this fragrant flower, as well as how to make our own lavender soap. At the end of the workshop, we'll enjoy a coffee and a pancake - can you guess what flavour?
Afterwards, we'll make our way to Val'Quirico, where we will arrive at 2 pm. Once there, you'll have an hour of free time to get some lunch and visit this replica of a medieval Italian village. Explore its narrow streets and admire arches and houses built of stone, adobe, wood and brick - you'll feel like you're in Tuscany!
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Cholula at 5 pm.
