At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the main gate of the Senderos del Sisga campsite to begin an exciting 8-kilometer (5-mile) hiking route around the Sisga Dam.
Leaving the Sisga lagoon behind, we'll make our way up Cerro La Leonera, a hill with hundreds of cypress trees and thousands of endemic plants characteristic of the high Andean forest of Colombia.
We'll reach the strip that separates the sierra from the Chingaza páramo, a refuge of flora and fauna nestled in the heart of the Andes. Did you know that this water factory supplies the city of Bogotá?
While admiring this bucolic scenery, we'll see pajonales, chusques, and senecios, among other species. After reaching an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,500 feet), we'll follow the same route back down to the Sisga Dam.
We'll conclude the activity after four hours at the starting point.
