On this excursion from Chisinau, we'll visit the Cricova winery and the monasteries of Orheiul and Vechi, two treasures of Moldovan cultural heritage.

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chisinau to embark on a journey to explore some of Moldova's most prominent cultural landmarks.
Our first stop will take us to 2 of the country's most renowned monasteries: the Curchi and Orheiul Vechi monasteries. The first that we'll visit, Curchi, is nestled in the Vatici Valley, hidden amidst the Codru forests. Once there, we'll delve into the history of the monastery and discuss some of the unique characteristics of Moldovan religious architecture.
Next, we'll journey to Orheiul Vechi, an authentic open-air museum hosting the ruins of ancient settlements and fortresses, including ruins of the Mongol city of Shehr Jedid, as well as a rock church. After we've explored these archaeological sites, you'll have some free time to enjoy a meal at a traditional restaurant offering typical Moldovan cuisine.
After we've refuelled, we'll regroup and make our way to the Cricova winery, the second-largest in the country. Their wines are stored in caves at depths ranging from 60 to 80 meters (196 to 262 feet) and have been visited by famous figures such as astronaut Yuri Gagarin!
We'll take a tour of the facilities and learn about the winemaking process. After, our visit, we'll return to Chisinau and drop you off at your hotel after about 8 hours of activity.
