Learn all about the fascinating history of the Mexican Revolution on our day trip to Parral. We'll set off from Chihuahua and visit the tomb of Pancho Villa, Alvarado Palace and many more iconic spots.
Parral Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua and set off southbound.
After driving for around 2 hours 30 minutes, we'll arrive in Parral. This city, which is officially called Hidalgo del Parral, is one of the main historic towns in the state of Chihuahua. When we get there, we'll see how its picturesque streets are home to numerous monumental buildings brimming with history.
We'll take a guided tour of Parral so you can see its main points of interest. As we walk through the centre, we'll visit Alvarado Palace and observe how its neo-renaissance, neo-baroque and neoclassical styles merge. We'll also take a look at the luxurious decoration of its different rooms, whose furnishings are also from different historical periods.
During our tour, we'll also head to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is the city's main religious monument. We'll then visit main square and the La Prieta mine, where we'll learn how different minerals were once extracted.
Our next stop will be at the cemetery of Parral, which houses the tomb of Pancho Villa. We'll pause in front of his mausoleum to discuss some important chapters in his life, as he was one of the leading figures of the Mexican Revolution. After learning about his life, we'll go to a restaurant in central Parral. Here, you'll have a delicious traditional lunch of some local delicacies.
Once we've had lunch, we'll return to your hotel in Chihuahua and drop you off at 4 pm.
