Cuauhtemoc Mennonite Fields Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua at 9 am and depart for Cuauhtemoc, the third-largest city in the state.
Once we arrive there, we'll head to the outskirts of Cuauhtemoc to visit the vast fields nearby. These crops are a key part of the livelihood of the Mennonites, a religious community of the Anabaptist Christian movement that preserves customs and traditions dating back to the 16th century. Their way of life is based on the doctrines of the Protestant leader Menno Simons, one of the main theologians of Anabaptism.
You're probably wondering "what's day-to-day life like for Mexican Mennonites?" or "what's their society like?". Well, we'll find out these things and much more by visiting the Mennonite Museum, where we'll tell you many facts about this community. Besides the refusal to use any kind of technology, among their main distinguishing traits is the language they speak, which is derived from Old German.
After visiting the museum, we'll enjoy a cheese and sausage tasting made by the Mennonites. These products are made following the most traditional of techniques and, therefore, are completely natural.
Lastly, after the tasting, we'll return to your hotel in Chihuahua, arriving there at 2 pm.
