Chepe Express 3-Day Tour: Creel & Copper Canyon
3-Day Tour Details
Day 1: Chihuahua - Creel
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chihuahua and head towards Creel. On the way, we'll visit the Mennonite community of Cuauhtémoc, a religious group originally from Switzerland. Here, we'll visit a regional museum, the Américas cheese factory, and a local bakery, where we'll have a typical lunch including empanadas de queso.
After we've had something to eat, we'll visit Lake Arareco, Los Hongos and Ranas Valley, the old Jesuit mission of San Ignacio, and a cave inhabited by the Tarahumara Indigenous people.
We'll then arrive in Creel, where you'll be able to grab a bite for dinner and get some rest. Goodnight!
Day 2: Creel - Divisadero
Good morning! After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to the Creel train station and hop aboard the famous Chepe Express to head to Divisadero. During the journey, we'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Sierra Tarahumara, which is full of legends and history. When we reach our destination, we'll head to the hotel to rest a little and have a delicious traditional lunch.
After lunch at the hotel in Divisadero, you'll have 4 hours to explore the Copper Canyon Adventure Park to admire the beauty of this 20-million-year-old gorge. You'll be able to participate in different activities and pause at some of its viewpoints so you can take photos of the incredible scenic views. You can also cross a suspension bridge and stroll through the pine forests, which are full of cuckoos, quails, and hawks. This park will take your breath away!
At night, we'll have dinner at the hotel while taking in the views. Time for some rest, because our last day of this 3-day tour is next!
Day 3: Divisadero - Chihuahua
Rise and shine! We'll have breakfast accompanied by the amazing views around us. Afterward, you'll have 1-hour of free time if you'd like to go hiking in the area around the Copper Canyon.
It'll then be time to return to your hotel Chihuahua, where we'll arrive at at 3 pm.
