Huaca Rajada de Sipan Private Tour
Description
At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and kick off our private tour. Ready to learn about the powerful Lord of Sipan?
For two hours, we'll tour the archaeological site where the remains of this governor of ancient Peru were discovered, findings that are currently protected in the Site Museum. This institution recreates the burial chambers of characters of the Mochica elite, such as the Lord Warrior, the Warrior Priest, and the Noble Warrior.
Also, we'll explain why Huaca Rajada is considered the most important ceremonial site for the Mochica culture in the north of Peru. After visiting the museum, we'll move on to the two adobe platforms of this pyramid and see its altars. We'll learn about the different uses that were given to these platforms, the largest of which is 35 meters high.
Next, we'll move to one of the sides of the complex, where a mausoleum is located that originally had 6 levels. We'll be able to admire the layout of the cemetery and the place each member of the nobility held.
Lastly, after this interesting tour of the pre-colonization culture, we'll bid farewell at the museum entrance.
