Night Tour of Chennai
Night Tour of Chennai
At 7 pm, as the sun starts to set over the horizon, we will meet up at Fort St. George. Our fabulous night tour begins by hearing all about the history of this 17th-century building, which originally served as the first British fortress in India.
From there, we will head to St. Mary's Anglican Church which is notable for its brilliant white decoration and elegant architecture. Later, you will encounter the Victory War Memorial which pays homage to the triumph of the Allies in both World Wars. You will discover the monument cast in the warm red glow of sunset, creating a special ambience for this special visit.
Later, our guided night tour continues, crossing the Napier Bridge, the oldest in the city. You will also admire the elegant architecture of the University of Madras, which is India's third oldest university and one of the most highly regarded. Then we head to the Anna Samadhi Memorial where you will hear all about Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai, the last Chief Minister of Madras.
The last stop on the nocturnal tour of Chennai is the Statue of Work on Marina Beach. This is one of Chennai's liveliest districts and you can continue to discover the fantastic nightlife after the tour finishes at 9 pm.
