Private Chennai Guided Tour
Tour Details
We'll depart from your hotel in Chennai at 9 am First stop? One of the most beautiful sanctuaries of the city, the Kapaleeshwarar Temple. This centre of Hindu worship, dedicated to the god Shiva, will attract your attention with its vivid colours.
We'll then go to Fort Saint George, one of the main vestiges of the British colonial era. In this ancient bastion, we'll visit the museum that reviews this period in the history of India. Among the most important exhibits are coins, weapons, old uniforms and the letters exchanged between the most prominent military officers, such as Generals Robert Clive and Lord Cornwallis.
After a break for lunch on your own, we'll continue our tour of Chennai to the Victoria Memorial Hall. Inside this pink sandstone building, we'll see an extensive collection of paintings, which is notable for its collection of works from the Rajput and Moghul schools.
Finally, we'll stop at one of the main Catholic temples in Chennai, the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Thomas. Its neo-Gothic architecture contrasts with the rest of the buildings in the surrounding area.
The tour will end back at your hotel in Chennai at 5 pm.
