Chengdu Guided Walking Tour
Description
We'll meet at Tianfu Square, right in the centre of Chengdu, at the scheduled time. Once we're all together, we'll begin our guided tour, during which we'll discover the biggest attractions in the City of Pandas.
To begin, we'll take a look at this square. Here, we'll find some of the most amazing monuments, such as the white sculpture of Mao Tse Tung or the dragon-shaped fountains. It is here where we'll begin to recount the history of Chengdu. Did you know that this city dates back more than 4000 years?
From here, we'll walk to the Chengdu Museum, the largest and most complete museum in the city. Here, we'll take a tour that will take us from the prehistoric period right up to the foundation of the People's Republic of China in the 1940s.
After uncovering the social, political, economic, artistic, and cultural aspects, we'll continue with our visit until we reach Chengdu People's Park, an old underground air raid shelter used by the Sichuan Army during the Second World War. We'll see the locals who come here every day to take part in dances and visit the famous blind date corner. You'll love it!
After, we'll make our way to the iconic long and narrow alleyways of Chengu, a historic area where we'll discover the oldest buildings in the city, such as the constructions of the Qing dynasty and the Western style. A blend that you're sure to admire!
In addition, we'll also make a short stop at a café in the area to have some typical tea. The perfect end to the tour!
Finally, the tour will come to an end in this part of the city after a total of 6 hours of walking.
