Dujiangyan Panda Base Volunteer Experience
Dujiangyan Panda Base Volunteer Experience
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Chengdu and go directly to the Dujiangyan Panda Bear Reserve, which is located approximately two hours away.
Upon arrival at the reserve, we'll wear the same uniform as the staff at the centre and tour the facilities where the panda bears live. This is a natural area where the animals have bamboo and a wide range of vegetation.
Next, we'll watch how the volunteer's prepare the panda's food to later feed them. These cute bears don't only eat bamboo! After helping the workers at the centre with other tasks, such as preparing the areas where the animals sleep, we'll have lunch in the employees' cafeteria.
After lunch, we'll watch a documentary about panda bears. Then we'll have to cook a snack for the animals, a delicious fruit and corn cake. They love it!
Lastly, we will make our way back, making a brief stop at Dujiangyan Zhongshug, considered one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. Its tall columns, full of tomes, seem to have no end thanks to a large set of mirrors.
Then, we'll take you back to your hotel in Chengdu after 7 hours of activity.
