A small city with a big history. On this Charlottetown guided tour, we'll discover the secrets of the birthplace of the Canadian Confederation.

Description

Located in the centre of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown may be small, but it has an incredibly rich history. Do you want to learn more about it but aren't sure where to start? Join us at 6 Prince Street at the time indicated and we'll start this guided tour of Charlottetown.

We'll leave the harbourside at Confederation Landing and head towards Great George Street, one of the most iconic streets in the city due to the many Georgian buildings that have been conserved on one side of the street, which contrasts with the neogothic architecture on the other side of the road.

Then, we'll explore Bishops' Palace and St. Dunstan's Basilica, 2 iconic sites in Charlottetown. We'll continue the guided tour around Province House, where the Canadian Confederation was born. Did you know that it is the second oldest government seat in the country?

As we continue walking around the centre of Charlottetown, we'll discover Victoria Row, an area where local artists meet daily to play live music. Near here, we'll find the Confederation Centre of the Arts, where the famous play Anne of Green Gables has been performed for more than 50 years.

During the tour, we can't miss out on places such as the Confederation Court Mall, the Town Hall, Rochford Square and other Government buildings on Prince Edward Island, such as Beaconsfield Historic House and Government House.

Finally, we'll explore the harbourside, passing the Culinary Institute of Canada and the Queen Charlotte Armoury, before returning to the initial starting point, where we'll end this guided tour after 2 hours.
