Historic Rosedale House Guided Tour
Historic Rosedale House Guided Tour
Meet us at the Historic Rosedale at the scheduled time as we set off on a guided tour through the grounds of this historic 1815 Federal-style home!
First, we'll learn the rich history behind this former private residence, owned by the same family for five generations. After a major facelift in 1993, the site opened to the public, inviting visitors to explore the house and whopping 9 acres of gardens that make up the single property.
Throughout the tour, we'll discuss many interesting facts about the house and the surrounding area. Together, we'll enter the 15-room estate to uncover further insights into the historic Antebellum period in the United States. Within the rooms, we'll be treated to architectural and decorative motifs from this bygone era and small details left behind by each generation that lived here.
From here, we'll move into the gardens area, which is sure to captivate you with its well-manicured greenery. Here, you're free to explore the grounds at your own pace, taking in the boxwood plants that date back to when the house was completed in 1815. Be sure to glimpse the rose bushes that have been thriving since the 1950s, when they were originally planted.
Then, after fully immersing ourselves in the tranquil atmosphere at Rosedale, we'll end the tour 1 hour later.
