Heraklion & Knossos Palace Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chania from 6:30 am. From there, we'll set off for the Palace of Knossos , located just 5 kilometres from Heraklion. On the way, we'll stop for 20 minutes for an energising breakfast.
After a two-hour drive, we'll arrive at the Palace of Knossos, probably the most important monument in Crete. We'll start a guided tour of the archaeological complex to visit the spectacular rooms of the best preserved palace of the entire Minoan civilisation!
As we explore the ruins, we'll reveal the fascinating facts and myths related to this historical site. Legend has it that the Palace of Knossos was the seat of King Minos himself. We'll also learn about famous stories like the myth of the Labyrinth and the myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Travel back to Classical Greece!
After the guided tour, we'll make our way to Heraklion. You'll have three hours of free time to explore the capital of Crete at your leisure. You can stroll around the harbour, enjoy a delicious typical lunch, stroll through its charming streets and explore the Archaeological Museum. Did you know that it has the best collection of Minoan art in the world?
In the museum, you'll find unique pieces such as the sarcophagus of Agia Triada, the fresco of the Minotaur and the fresco of the Prince of the Lilies.
At 3:30 pm, we'll leave Heraklion and head back to Chania. On the way, we'll stop for a coffee break, before dropping you at your hotel between 6 pm and 6:30 pm.
