Maria Fumaça Train+ Bento Gonçalves Winery Visit
At 7:45 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Caxias do Sul. From there, we'll head to the station to board the famous Maria Fumaça steam train.
Did you know that this early 20th-century locomotive ran until the 1970s? Along the route, we'll learn about the traditions and customs that Italian culture has left behind as a legacy in this region. As an added bonus during the tour, you'll be able to taste wines, juices, and sparkling wines.
Next, we'll head to the Epopeia Italiana theme park, where we'll learn about the history and roots of the European immigrants who chose southern Brazil as their new home. The park has nine life-size sets that tell the story of an Italian immigrant couple. While we watch the show, we'll indulge in a homemade cookie - you'll love it!
Our last stop will be at a winery in Bento Gonçalves, where we'll learn about the process of grape growing and winemaking in this region as well as participate in a tasting. Cheers!
Midday, we'll make a stop so you can have lunch on your own and sample the delicious local gastronomy. We'll finish the tour by returning to your hotel in Caxias do Sul ten hours later.
