Copahue Volcano Hike
Hike Details
Want to go up one of the most important volcanoes in the Andes? Say no more! We'll begin our adventure once we've picked you up from your hotel in Caviahue. Next, we'll drive in an off-roading vehicle until we reach the Copahue Volcano hike's starting point.
As soon as we arrive, we'll fasten our walking shoes, grab some hiking sticks, and begin the first phase of our hiking route up Copahue Volcano. During the ascent, we'll be able to glimpse the fumaroles of this constantly active crater. Did you know that it's been considered the most active volcano in the Andean region in the past few decades?
As we get closer to the second phase, we'll speak about the studies and the appeal of the Copahue Volcano for Chilean and Argentine research centres. When you least expect it, we'll head into the third and final hiking stage. Here, in the El Arenal area, we'll put on some hard hats and give it our everything to reach the summit. We're nearly there!
The peaks surrounding the mountaintop and the smell of sulphur will be a sign that we're reaching the crater's lagoon. Here, you'll have 30 minutes of free time to take in your achievement while you rest and have a warm drink.
After enjoying this moment, we'll begin our descent and, once we're in the off-roading vehicle, we'll head back to Caviahue. We'll say our goodbyes back at your hotel after a total of 8 hours.
