Mount San Liberatore Hiking Tour from Cave de' Tirreni
Description
Get ready for an incredible hiking adventure on Mount San Liberatore, starting at via Giuseppe de Rosa in Cave de' Tirreni. This route promises breathtaking panoramic views of the Gulf of Salerno that you won't find anywhere else.
After lacing up our boots, we'll begin our trek from Cave de' Tirreni to the summit, standing 500 meters above sea level, for an awe-inspiring perspective of the Amalfi Coast.
The medium-low difficulty trail will take approximately an hour and a half to reach the top. Once there, take a well-deserved break and soak in the stunning vistas of Salerno, Vietri sul Mare, and Cava de' Tirreni. The vivid blue hues of the Tyrrhenian Sea contrasting with the lush green mountains will leave you in awe.
At the summit, you'll encounter an impressive 18-meter iron cross and the hermitage dedicated to the martyr of San Liberatore, a historic church dating back to the early tenth century. We'll delve into the fascinating history of these monuments and share stories about the bustling port of Salerno and its significant maritime heritage.
Afterward, we'll make our descent back to the starting point, concluding the unforgettable hike up Mount San Liberatore approximately three hours after we began.
