Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at Piazza dei Martiri. Here, we'll board a 4x4 and leave Catania behind as we start our route to Etna National Park.
Following the least trodden paths in the park, we'll tell you lots of facts about the history, culture and traditions linked to one of the most famous volcanoes in Italy. In addition, you'll discover the area's flora and fauna, as well as the changing landscape caused by Etna in each eruption.
After the first part of the 4x4 tour, we'll stop in the town of Milo, the highest town in the park. From here, you'll have fantastic views of the Ionic Sea, Taormina and the volcano's crater. Don't forget your camera!
We'll continue our tour by heading to Monti Sartorius, formed up of 7 inactive craters that were created in the 1865 eruption. We'll explore this area surrounded by white birch trees. Did you know that this is one of the main natural points of interest in Sicily?
After a brief stop at a mountain refuge, we'll start a very special activity. We'll get out of the 4x4, don helmets and enter Thieve's Cave, a small lava tunnel from Prehistory that will take your breath away.
To end, we'll return to the 4x4 and travel to Zafferana Etnea, a town where we'll have the chance to try some Sicilian delicacies, such as honey, wine, and different liquors.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point in Catania and end this 4.5-hour tour.
