Catania Guided Tour & Wine Tasting
Tour Details
At the appointed time, we'll meet in Piazza Duomo and set off to discover the wine and cultural heritage of Catania. Are you ready to taste excellent wines while discovering the historic center of the city?
We’ll begin by visiting the square’s main landmarks, including the Cathedral of Sant'Agata, a key example of Sicilian Baroque, and the Fontana dell'Elefante, whose elephant sculpture was carved from Mount Etna’s lava stone. More interesting details await!
Next, we'll head to Pescheria, the old fish market of Catania. Here we'll stroll among its stalls to be amazed by the authentic atmosphere of Catania and immerse ourselves in the local culture. What's more, we'll make our first stop to taste a glass of wine paired with some local delicacies, like caponata, olives, cheese or cold meats.
Afterward, we'll leave the market to reach the Castello Ursino, one of the most important monuments of the city, to admire its exterior. From here, we'll go to Piazza Mazzini to admire the beauty of its noble buildings and learn about its history, which will leave you speechless!
In the last part of the tour we'll stop along via Crociferi for a second wine tasting accompanied by some appetizers and a dessert. A stop to discover all the nuances of the taste and aroma of the wines of Catania! In total, we'll taste three wines, an Etna Bianco, an Etna Rosso and a fortified sweet wine.
Once the tasting is over, we'll say goodbye on via Crociferi after a 2.5 hour tour.
