Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Catania to begin this day trip to Taormina, Castelmola, and Savoca. An unforgettable day in three of Sicily's most beautiful towns awaits you!
Our first stop will be Savoca, a gorgeous medieval village. Here, we'll visit the Capuchin catacombs in the convent that serves as the final resting place for the mummified bodies of Savoca's nobility and monks. We'll also visit the Vitelli bar. Any ideas about how it's linked to the film The Godfather? Find out on this day trip! You'll have 1 hour of free time in this village.
Driving past Isola Bella, we'll continue our route towards Castelmola, a town suspended between the sky and the sea. We'll wander around its streets and visit the Turrisi bar, famous for its unique decorations. We'll then head over to the San Giorgio bar, where we'll enjoy a delicious brunch which includes a bruschetta and a pasta dish, accompanied by water and wine.
In the afternoon, we'll make our way to Taormina, where we'll walk along its elegant Corso separating Porta Catania and Porta Messina, the city's medieval gates. You'll have 1 hour to explore and admire the impressive beauty of your unique surroundings: the Ionic coast on one side and the majestic Mount Etna on the other.
Having met up once again, we'll begin our journey back to Catania, where we'll arrive and say our goodbyes after a total of 8 to 8.5 hours.
