Puerto Casma, Comandante Noel & Playa Tortugas Tour
Puerto Casma, Comandante Noel & Playa Tortugas Tour
At 9 am, we'll depart from your hotel in Casma towards Puerto Casma, a coastal paradise just 10 minutes away from the city.
As soon as we arrive at this town on the Peruvian coast, we'll be able to appreciate the strategic importance of this place. During its Spanish colony era, it was an important port that suffered pirate raids in the early 17th century, the history of which we'll learn about while we make our way through Puerto Casma.
Puerto Casma was also an important region in the 19th century. It was precisely at that time that the tragedy of the frigate Mercedes took place. Do you know what happened to this ship? During the tour, we'll tell you the story of the marine commander Juan Noel Lastra, whose heroic actions continue to impress today.
After touring Puerto Casma, we'll head to the Comandante Noel viewpoint to continue learning more about the history of this brave Peruvian sailor. We'll also take advantage of this break to enjoy unbeatable panoramic views of the surrounding area.
The next stop will take place at Playa Tortugas, a famous beach where we'll visit its picturesque fishermen's cove. Many of the fishermen catch octopus, squid, and snails, although the entire bay is rich in marine resources. Of course, during the tour, we'll also learn about the typical recipes of the area, the highlight of which are fresh fish dishes.
Finally, from Tortugas beach, we'll return to your hotel in Casma where we'll arrive at 1 pm.
