Las Aldas & La Gramita Beach Excursion
Las Aldas & La Gramita Beach Excursion
We'll pick you up at 2 pm at your hotel in Casma and drive to Las Aldas, one of the main archaeological complexes on the Peruvian coast.
Upon arrival, we'll go on a guided tour of Las Aldas to learn about the history of this site. Archaeologists date its origins between 1925 and 1410 B.C., right between the Late Archaic and Formative periods of prehistoric times. As we'll see, despite the passing of the centuries, you can still see traces and vestiges of this ancient civilization.
During the tour, we'll learn about the three functions of this complex as a ceremonial, administrative and scientific center. We'll discover how marine resources were controlled and the rites that took place at its ancient astronomical observatory, located in a privileged position to admire the night sky.
After visiting the site of Las Aldas, we'll go to the nearby beach of La Gramita to enjoy the scenery of this picturesque fishing cove. Those who wish can also taste its delicious seafood and fresh fish dishes, prepared entirely with local products.
Finally, from La Gramita we'll return to your hotel in Casma, where arrival is scheduled for between 5 and 5:30 pm.
