When booking you can choose between 4 different options. They all last between 7 and 11 hours, and include return transport to the Muelle de La Bodeguita de Cartagena and lunch, with a choice of 3 protein options. Below, you can see the details of each option:
Playa Tranquila + Admission to Freedom Beach Club
If you choose this option, we'll pick you up at the time indicated from the meeting point and head to Barú Island by bus or directly by boat, depending on your choice when booking.
This option also includes admission to Freedom Beach Club and you'll have access to one of the most spectacular spots in the area. You'll receive a welcome cocktail and be free to swim in the beautiful turquoise water, sunbathe, and dance to the animated music in the club.
At lunchtime, we'll serve you a full meal including a protein, coconut rice, salad and patacones. Yummy! After about 2 hours later, we'll take you back to Cartagena.
Playa Tranquila + Oceanarium
This option is perfect for those who love animals. After your welcome cocktail at Freedom Beach Club, we'll board about that will take us to the Oceanarium in 20 minutes.
Here, you'll have about 2 hours to explore this spectacular conservation space home to more than 140 marine species from the Colombian Caribbean.
Then, we'll take you back to the club to enjoy a rich lunch. After lunch, you'll have another 2 hours to make the most of this beach before returning to Cartagena.
Playa Tranquila + Plankton
On this tour, you'll have the morning free to enjoy this delightful island. In addition, you can use the loungers at Freedom Beach Club to relax and, of course, take photos in this incredible spot.
After lunch, and when the sunsets, we'll take you on a speedboat ride to admire a light show created by plankton inBarú. You can even go swimming!
Finally, at the end of the activity, we'll return to Cartagena.
Playa Tranquila + Snorkelling + Plankton
With this 4th option, after savouring a welcome cocktail at Freedom Beach Club, we'll take you on a tour of the mangroves that surround the island of Barú. Have you ever seen a raccoon before? You'll be able to spot some here!
After this activity, we'll take you to one of the best areas of the beach to go snorkelling. We'll give you free time to swim and spot colourful fish in the crystalline water.
If after swimming you're hungry, don't worry because we'll serve you lunch at the club. Then, when the sun starts to set, we'll admire the bioluminescence of the Caribbean Sea at the lagoon. You can go swimming with plankton!
At the end of the day, we'll take you back to Cartagena.
Playa Tranquila + Snorkelling + Mangroves
With this option, you'll also enjoy a welcome cocktail at Freedom Beach Club before starting your boat tour through the mangroves of the area, where you'll have the opportunity to observe the local wildlife, including the friendly raccoons that you can feed and take pictures of. After this experience, we'll move on to an area ideal for snorkelling. You'll also have some free time to swim and discover the colourful fish that inhabit these crystal-clear waters.
On the way back to Freedom Beach, you can refuel with a delicious lunch. Afterwards, you'll have free time to relax, swim or take pictures in the most picturesque corners of the club.
At the end of the activity, we'll return to the starting point in Cartagena.
How to Get to Playa Tranquila
When booking, you can choose between two options, depending on how you prefer to get to Playa Tranquila, either by bus or directly by speedboat from Cartagena de Indias. However, you must take into account that for those who choose the bus option, once you arrive in Baru, we'll transfer you in a boat to the area of Playa Tranquila in a short 5-minute ride.
Depending on the option you choose, you must take into account the following schedules and meeting points:
- Transport by bus: at 8 am from the Clock Tower
- Transport by speedboat: at 8:50 am from the Muelle de La Bodeguita
