Diving in Sunken Boats in Baru
Description
At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Bocagrande or at the agreed meeting point in Cartagena de Indias. From here, we'll start an hour-long journey by minibus to arrive at the Baru peninsula.
Once at our destination, we'll board a boat and sail the Caribbean Sea to the Los Velázques aquatic park.
If you're a beginner, don't worry. Before the first dive, we'll give you a brief lesson and practice some basic techniques in calm waters. Then, it's time to look for the AC Quindio ship, a boat sunken by the Colombian navy in 2005.
With our equipment on, we'll enter the water to explore the ship's remains. We'll swim inside it and explore its various areas. When the pressure gauge indicates it's time, we'll return to the surface. Overall, each dive will last approximately 30 minutes.
After your dive, you'll have 3 hours of free time to relax. We'll conclude the activity at your hotel Cartagena, where we'll arrive after 9 hours of activity.
During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between different options. Please read below the details of each option:
Options
- Single dive: the classic option. Enjoy a 30-minute dive and explore the waters of Baru.
- 2 dives: with this option, you'll be able to enjoy 2 30-minute dives.
- Single dive + Lunch: after enjoying a single, 30-minute dive, you'll be able to refuel with a traditional lunch consisting of fresh fish, chicken or a vegetarian option. After lunch, you'll have some free time to enjoy the beach club in Baru - a great opportunity to catch some rays on deck chairs!
- 2 dives + Lunch: the most complete option! With this option, you'll enjoy 2, 30-minute dives as well as lunch at the beach club, with free time to relax afterwards.
Divers with certificates
If you have an international diving certificate, you should bring it with you on the day. Divers without a certificate won't dive down to the sunken boat but rather explore the surface water.
Pickup
This activity includes pickup from hotels in the Bocagrande area. If you're staying in another area of Cartagena de Indias, please meet at the Torre del Reloj monument at the time indicated.
