At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Pegasus Pier in Cartagena de Indias and head to one of the most important cities in Colombia: Barranquilla. Shakira's hometown is known as the "Golden Gate" – find out why on the tour!
After a 2-hour drive, we'll arrive at our destination and begin a panoramic tour of Barranquilla. First, we'll head to the El Prado neighborhood. Did you know that this place was the first planned urban center in Colombia? As we walk through it, we'll talk about the main historical events of the city.
We'll also explore the pleasant Parque de los Fundadores and reach the Casa del Carnaval, where we'll talk about Barranquilla's most festival-like tradition – it's quite an event! In the city's historic center, we'll also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and other emblematic points of the city.
Next, we'll stop in front of the Shark's Fin monument and discover to whom it's dedicated. We'll also stop in front of the famous Window to the World monument. The last part of our tour will be dedicated to strolling along the tranquil Malecon. This will be the perfect setting for enjoying a delicious meal in Barranquilla, including a typical dish of the region!
Finally, we'll start our way back to Cartagena de Indias, arriving at the meeting point 9 hours after initial pickup.
